Grat Camera The D-90 is a great camera. If you are into using video, then this is not the camera for you, but if you are looking for a workhorse camera that provides great digital images at a price that is right, then this is the camera for you. 12.3 megapixils produces a very nice image. The camera is very intuitive to use. This is the camera that I came to after shooting film for most of my life. After a few walks in the woods and a few friends posing for me, I was able to comfortably operate the camera without issue. A few weeks later I used two D-90's to photograph my first digital wedding, and had absolutely no issues. Since then, I always have a D-90 around to use. In my opinion, this is an excellent camera to capture most general photography jobs. I have traveled all over the United States with my D90's and have had nothing but success in producing excellent images. 23 de mayo de 2012
Still does what it is supposed to do and then some! I purchased my D90 over a year ago - I wanted to get into digital photography after a long time away from the profession ( I used to do wedding professionally, but with yashicamat 124gs) - I have found that this camera, even at 12 megapixels, delivers excellent color and outstanding rendition of skin tones - I have used a D300 and still prefer this camera in many ways (although I have heard the sensors are the same). Although I think the D300 is better suited to fast action (as are all of the pro Nikon line) - if you have some time to set up the shot, the D90 delivers (I have some good glass: Nikon 24-70 2.8 does great with this camera) 23 de mayo de 2012
Everything what I expected D90 gives me possibilities to do what I want to do. 23 de mayo de 2012
My digital dream camera My first Nikon and it's everything I expected. It has just the right amount of heft that enables stability and retains agility. 23 de mayo de 2012
The "Rock Solid" D90 The Nikon D90 is more than just a fully optioned DSLR, it has 11 point focusing, 720P HD, shoots in raw and JPG and a full set of picture controls. Pair it with a Nikkor 12-24 and Nikkors 70-200 2.8 and you've got the ability to shoot everywhere and everything. 23 de mayo de 2012
D90 : It has been an excellent performer This has been an excellent camera and has returned great images. An excellent backup to my heavier D300. Often instead of switching lenses on the D300, I will place the alternate lens on the D90 and switch cameras for special shots such as a micro opporunity. Agreed it is a luxury to have both, but it is a testimony to the confidence in the image quality of the D90 as well. 23 de mayo de 2012
NIKON D90 wit 18-200 VR G II ED , has been Adventure in Photograph. I when form a point and shoot on auto, to program, to a D90 most of time on Program, to aperture most of time, to get sharp landscapes, and Flowers with blurred backgrounds, all the time have to be compete with Nikon D300 with same lens. When are you going past program my friend Jim asked and use all that power!! So with my Jim help, and Scott Kelby Books on Digital Photograph 1,2,3 We shoot all lessens, and found out how good the senor is, Lightroom 2,3,4. So the D300 wins some of time, D90,wins some time, it more about the day and man behind the camera and his view point.. Thank Nikon for amazing camera for great price. I has been a great adventure. On to a D7000 &1080 HD. 23 de mayo de 2012
Consistent, reliable, and forgiving. The D90 is an exceptional tool. It is a unique combination of speed and quality that helps create great images. Yes, in today's world of megapixels and art filters, it has it's limitations. But I can count on the D90 to continuously help me get those fleeting shots before it's too late. It's simplicity and reliability allow me to focus more on the image and less on the settings. 23 de mayo de 2012
Great camera. I am in love with my D90. It is more camera than I can really use at his time but I am growing into it. The basic features are easy enough to use and there are many features I have not found yet. I did not like the owners manual at all! I bought the book" NikonD90 Guide to SLR Photography" by David Busch from Amazon. This book is about 370 pages and "The Bible" as far as I am concerned. Unless you are an advanced digital photographer you will assuredly get something out of the book. I would say if you are a beginner or intermediate photographer this is a mandatory purchase. My father-in-law has been taking digital camera classes and still was able to learn a great deal from the book. The fact is this: There are dozens, if not hundreds, of settings and adjustments on the D90. The book will let you become a master much faster. This camera is for more than for snap and shoot, although it works for that, too. This camera is a serious tool. It will take patience to learn all the features but well worth the price and time to learn. I also bought accessory lenses and the large flash. Very impressive. You will eventually want a good quality tripod, too. I have not had good luck with regisitering my products, however. I was never able to complete my registration to obtain some of the additional educational products, even after multiple attempts. I also broke the bayonet mount (plastic) on a lens (I dropped it) and was not able to use the e-mail sent for me to approve the estimated price of repair. I had to call it in which did work satisfactorily. So, I would give the camera an A-(some adjustments are buried in menus). I would rate the owners booklet a D-. The lenses and flash I would rate an A. The customer service done solely by internet I would rate an F. The customer service on the phone I have had rates a C-, at times, to an A, sometimes. I would note that all of the people I talked to were nice and tried to be helpful. Some did not have the tools or expertise to fix my problem(s). PLEASE by the book by Busch if you get a D90, it is an A+. Thomas from Wis. 23 de mayo de 2012
Great Camera Owned for a couple of years now, upgraded from a D60. Worth every penny. Looking to upgrade soon but I will not be parting with this camera, will keep as a backup. Best camera I've owned, so far......Love it. 23 de mayo de 2012
My best camera Use it in auto and you will fall in love when you watch pictures quality. It's just a pure pleasure to shoot. 23 de mayo de 2012
Great pictures, bad experience with pop up flash Have thoroughly enjoyed the camera. It takes great photos fast and has more than enough features for any photographer. One problem has been the pop up flash. The flash doesn't stay down. This is the second time it has happened, first time fixed under warranty. Paid a good some of money for a product that has one component that is cheaply made. Overall though the camera is everything I expected. 23 de mayo de 2012
My AWESOME D90 I love my D90! I've thought about upgrading my camera body, but I have to tell you that I'm very happy with my D90. I use the Nikon 24-70mm2.8 and the 50mm1.4 and my pictures look as good as any other Nikon camera body I've seen. I'll use my D90 until I see something with better results. 23 de mayo de 2012
The Nikon D90 DSLR is an excellent camera for both pro and novice! I am utterly astonished at the quality and technical excellence of the D90. I now have the D90 for a couple of years, and am very happy with it. It is the best camera I have ever owned and it has made me a Nikon nut! As well, the longer I have it, the more I learn about my hobby. It has done everything that I have asked of it and a lot more! Before I selected the D90, I researched the market for the best brand and model for my needs. I most of all chose the D90 because of the excellent color reproduction, next for the backwards compatibility with the Nikon lens range available. At the DX size, it accommodates most Nikon lenses. And the camera is a miracle blend of great color, low light and low noise imaging! It does as promised and some more. One of my favorite uses is 'close up' and 'lower light' shots. To get sharper images for the former I added the Nikon 50mm F 1.8 D Lens . The lens is very well able to do most of the shots I need to take, and it is rare that I need to fit an adapter. I soon found that with just the inbuilt flash I was limiting my opportunities and added the SB 600 Flash unit, which enabled me to make better on camera bounce shots - thank you Nikon for the free tutorials here at your website - and some nice strobing effects, off camera on it's own stand. I must say, though, a few lessons on the effect are essential as one needs also to acquire some 'gels' - see through plastic filters fitted to the strobe - in order to expand creative horizons. In these and much of the more advanced uses of this camera, using the shot dial in the 'A', 'P', and 'M' mode is required. For example with the kit lens, Nikon 18-105mm VR, on the camera doing portraits - one could also use the 50mm here but I prefer the VR lens - sometimes indoor shots need loads of bokeh and a warmer depth of field ( sorry if my technical language is ad hoc I am not a pro! ). In such shots it might be better to use the auto portrait setting to find out from the camera what F and S setting it thinks best for the shot, then use that as a reference while using the 'A' ( aperture ) selection. In that, one can work the camera lens to a wider open setting. For example if auto it recommends 4.2, and you know this lens will do lower, 3.5, in the 'A' mode the camera will adjust to that setting. The real cool thing about the D90 is that it automatically compensates the speed to the wider lens setting. But if you are really into portraits you might want to either use the 50mm which has a wider F stop range for this kind of shot, or better still get the Nikon 50mm F 1.4 as a portrait lens. I have one of these and love the results. You could say it is a bokeh machine! But back to the D90. Where this camera really takes the prize is color reproduction! I don't think any of the newer camera bodies are as good as the D90, I really does a great job here. Also the related white balance controls of the camera are for the most part rarely needed, and I have not ever had to adjust that to get a better image. Even though one can easily adjust WB, it is not something that could not have been done with managing the flash or strobe / gels lighting effect better. IOW as the camera's own computer and sensor is so good it is very rarely to never needed. Because resolution above 8 megapixels is not noticeable on 12", or lower, prints. one would really have to have a very good reason to invest in higher power technology. So at 12 megapixels the D90 will deliver excellent images for a very long time! And if you really are a megapixel glutton then going up to the newer technologies might be fun. For me any upgrade would have to be, first photography classes, and second either of the D700, or the newer D800. Both of which are overkill, as I don't need very high resolution shots - eg studio massive size print / display images - for anything I currently do. As well the higher the megapixels the more noise in the image, so investing in a D800 for example, means one has to invest in a load more strobes and lighting for indoor shots etc. But for the cold novice moving to a thoroughbred DSLR, for the money the D90 is hard to beat ! And that is why folks are still buying and enjoying this excellent camera! 23 de mayo de 2012
Not up to the old Nikon standard I upgraded to the D90 from the D70, (which I loved). As soon as I got it I started taking pictures but didn't review them on a computer for a couple of days. When I did download them I noticed they were out of focus or the wrong parts were sharp. I tried using a tripod with a flash to shoot a stationary object, but they still weren't sharp. I tried a remote so I didn't even touch the camera and again odd parts of the image were in focus. I tried using different auto focus points to make sure I wasn't accidentally focusing with the wrong one. Nothing worked. So I sent the camera to Nikon to be checked and after a few weeks it came back saying there was nothing wrong with it. Not satisfied I sent the camera back to Amazon where I bought it and got another one. This one had the same problem and again I sent it to Nikon along with the lens I was using. By the way, the lens was the 18-70 that came with the D70 and took beautiful pictures. So they came back again without finding a problem. Finally I returned the second D90 and gave up on it. Overall I'd say the cameras took "soft" pictures. It was hit or miss as to where the sharpest part of the picture was going to be. Nothing was ever completely out of focus but you couldn't use the pictures for anything above 4x6. I can do some sharpening in Capture NX2 but you can only do so much when the original isn't sharp. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement as I've owned Nikon camera's since the mid '80's. 23 de mayo de 2012
The Nikon D90 is awesome I purchased my D90 3 years ago. It has never let me down. The photo's it takes are crisp and sharp. You are given many different shooting options. Including taking video's. You have many, many lens to use with this DX camera. It is certainly a winner. 23 de mayo de 2012
Professional pics made easy. Very easy to use and learn to be a better photographer. Many of our photos have become presents and used in banquets. I love the photo bursts for sports and action photos. We no longer need to pay for photos of our kids. 23 de mayo de 2012
I got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph! D90 is an excellent camera. I shot about 20,000 images and sold it and bought a D7000, but was sorry I did as the D7000 never gave me the tack sharp pictures I got with the D90 until I sent it back to Nikon for re-calibration! 23 de mayo de 2012
Great little Camera I have had the camera going on two years and I love it very much. I'm not a Pro but it gives me some great pictures as if I was a Pro. It has many great features and and I like it very much. I would recommend it to anyone even if it was your first DSLR. My daughter is using the camera now and she likes it and wants to get one also. 23 de mayo de 2012
Great lightweight DSLR. The D90 is easy to carry around and use on any occasion. We use it as a backup camera on some of our portrait and wedding assignments. Great travel camera. 23 de mayo de 2012
Excellent pictures - easy to use Bought the D90 with the 18-200 mega zoom lens. Easy to use, just point and shoot. Now getting into using other programatic modes. Spend a few extra dollars and buy great lens it will make your pictures pop. I have gotten great reviews on the pictures I have taken. Great camera for taking pictures. For video it is ok, I prefer to use a video camera. 23 de mayo de 2012
D90 This camera has been the best investment I've made in a very very long time!! Super shots & easy to use! LOVE IT!! 23 de mayo de 2012
Even I can take great photos! Although I got a larger Nikkor zoom lens, the camera is a dream....the only issue is sometimes there's a failure of the battery to connect, and one must eject the battery and reinsert. Otherwise it functions perfectly, and the photos are brilliant, colors are great and white balance is excellent. 23 de mayo de 2012
Love this camera! I still haven't used it to its full potential but I am learning as I go! From portrait to scenic to macro to video, this camera exceeds my every expectation. 23 de mayo de 2012
Everything you need in a semi-pro camera I got the D90 primarily for sports photography. I have been very pleased with the camera. Have also used it for portraits and am extremely happy with the results. Have not used the video as this is not a function that has intrest for me. It has functioned very well under some very difficult circumstances such as, poor lighting in a high school football stadium and has held up well in very trying weather such as rain and snow. A solid performer. Will upgrade to D7000 and keep the D90 as my second camera with a fast prime on it. 23 de mayo de 2012
Best Nikon Ever I have been using Nikons for 40 years and the D90 is the best yet. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the stills and video both. The autofocus is the best yet. As always, great lenses that are lighter, sharper and the zoom lenses have gotton so good I no longer feel the need to carrying a bag full of lenses. The only improvement I would recommend would be to add a flexible viewing screen. As I've gotten older I can no longer get on my knees or squat for low angle shots which is a disadvantage. Other than that, thanks for a great camera. 23 de mayo de 2012
Great mid range Camera I like it a lot, the pictures are great, features are plentiful. The only thing I would add is an external Mic jack. 23 de mayo de 2012
Makes you want to become a better photographer I bought my D90 as my first DSLR after spending 6 months doing research one 4 different models of various makes. I read countless peer reviews, got my hands on other people's cameras, joined forums, emailed photographers, devoured photography magazines, and bugged my local camera shop half to death, all in efforts to make sure I got a camera that was going to fulfill all of my desires in my first DSLR platform. I bought this specifically to use as my only still camera while on a ~16 month solo bicycle tour of the entire US, minus only Hawaii, so I knew I was going to be asking a lot of the camera. Fast-forward ~18 months, 5 seasons, 38 US states, ~13,000 shutter cycles, ~11,000 miles of cycling with the D90 in my handlebar bag: For my purposes and my skill level, I have never once thought I made the wrong choice in camera selection, and here are some reasons why: Despite not boasting the sheer big-number high-teens resolution in megapixels, the sensor is quite big enough, and has never left me wanting for fine detail clarity. I'm a "bang-for-my-buck" kind of consumer, and this has more than delivered. I have yet to take any of my work to print, but I have no doubt that the images will look awesome. With its wide array of shooting modes, in-camera editing, detailed manual controls, and flexible ISO range, it has pushed me to take photography more seriously, elevating it from a casual interest, to something I feel fully equipped to pursue as an enthusiast. Having the ability to tune color temp, manually set white balance, usable high ISO ranges, finely segmented exposure controls, remote flash modes, focus point selection, etc., has allowed me a lot of room to grow, and learn as I go, constantly finding new ways to take pictures that come closer and closer to the ideal image I can see in my head. It's a great motivator to experiment, knowing the camera has so much more to offer, each time I incorporate a new change into the images I'm shooting. The price point, I feel, is spot on for what you get with the D90. Even now, it continues to hold its value very well, despite the release of the D7000. Though it is not a full frame sensor, the DX format has continued to offer great compatibility with the lenses I have had available to shoot with. The inboard focus drive motors allow a huge selection of older lens types, even with ones that are not built with AF. The build quality is awesome, and doesn't feel cheap at all. Nikon's support for their products seems to be excellent, and regardless of how long the D90 has been on the market, it is far from forgotten. Intuitively designed menus, which are semi-customizable, help me to keep easy track of all my settings, and display information in a clear manner. The backlight for the screens works very well in the dark, with a simple way to turn it on using the camera's chunky rotating power switch. Insofar, my only niggles are: The video functionality issues. The resolution isn't quite up to what some of the more modern HDSLRs are shooting, but it still looks very clean, so long as you don't move the camera much. It gets a little shaky, showing some distortion of the subject when I move it. In a static setting though, with the camera secured to a tripod, it looks great to me. The lack of an intervalometer was has been kind of a bummer. I was really looking forward to being able to do some long exposure astro work, without too much peripheral equipment, but, thankfully, this has been tempered by the discovery of a couple different makes of high quality, multi-function remotes that have intervalometer capabilities. Things like stop motion movies would be really cool to be able to make with just the camera alone, but alas, it was clearly not enough of a big deal to look at other models. All in all, the D90 has proven itself to me as a wonderfully user-friendly platform, well priced to fit the buyer with something wildly capable for the enthusiast level user. The stunning image quality and accurate settings adjustments make for shots that have that professional look to them, without breaking the proverbial bank, leaving you with money to later invest in a lens collection, or travel, so one can explore new places to shoot! It may not be the absolute best in any single category, but fellow motorcyclists will understand what I mean when I say that it is kind of like the Honda of the camera world, in that what it may lack in specialization, it more than makes up for in well-roundedness, and well balanced capability in all aspects of its design and execution. Putting this camera in your hands will make you want to push yourself to become a better, more involved photographer! 23 de mayo de 2012
Great camera, even for an amateur! The D90 is my 4th Nikon since my first one (a Nikon F, bought new in 1967), and my first digital SLR. And I love it. It has more bells 'n whistles than I'll ever use, but for the most part, I find it fairly easy to use, and gives me great photos. And I don't shoot on "Auto"! 23 de mayo de 2012
Excellent Camera I've had my D90 for over 2 years now and it continues to impress me. I just attended a forensic photography class through my place of employment primary to assist law enforcement with crash and crime scene forensice photograpy. I took my D90 as opposed to the camera I use at work, the D200. My D90 performed great. It took excellent low light/nighttime photos and I walked away with a greater understanding of what the D90 is capable of. Overall an excellent camera and I would highly recommend it to anybody. 23 de mayo de 2012
